Welcome to the Center for Immunology and Infectious Diseases (CIID). It is my privilege to be the Director of a research and teaching center that represents a unique partnership between the Schools of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. The CIID has ten core faculty members with active research laboratories focused on basic immunology and the host response to a variety of infectious diseases. Our research programs are largely funded by the National Institutes of Health and deals with some of the biggest challenges in human health. Our faculty collaborate widely across campus and with scientists outside UC Davis to advance current knowledge of the immune system. Much of the ground-breaking research at the CIID is produced by graduate students and post-doctoral fellows who are trained and mentored by our faculty and strive to address the important scientific challenges of the future.
