CIID research programs provide a rich academic environment for scientific training at the professional, graduate, and post-graduate levels within the Schools of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. CIID faculty also contribute to a number of didactic teaching programs on campus. The CIID environment attracts and trains candidates in the disciplines of comparative medical research, infectious disease, cancer biology, experimental genomics, comparative pathology, and mouse biology. Trainees in these diverse disciplines can affiliate with a number of UC Davis Graduate Programs to which CIID faculty belong. A number of private and NIH-funded programs are based in the CIID that provide opportunities for both professional and graduate training.
